Joliet House Fire On Arbor Gate Drive: Crews Remained On The Scene For 90 Minutes

Crews performed interior attacks, vertical ventilation and savage and overhaul.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Fire Department issued a press release in response to Saturday afternoon's house fire in the 19000 block of Arbor Gate Drive.

According to battalion chief Jim Batusich, the Joliet Fire Department responded to the 1900 block of Arbor Gate Drive, for a report of a structure fire in a 2-story residence at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Company 9 arrived within 3 minutes of the call and found fire and smoke coming from the rear structure.

Fire spread to the attic of the structure. Crews extinguished the fire in the rear of the structure as other crews extinguished the fire in the attic before the fire could spread. The structure suffered fire, smoke and water damage. The occupants
were able to exit the home prior to fire department arrival.

Crews remained on the scene for 90 minutes extinguishing hot spots and checking for extension. There were no injuries
to report. Fire crews from stations 6,8,9 and 10 responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
