JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department's latest response to the apartments off Larkin Avenue on Bellarmine Drive led to the arrest of Adomarko Sneed, who is now being detained under the SAFE-T Act.
Sneed faces charges of aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic battery and resisting a peace officer.

According to the prosecution's successful petition to deny pretrial release for Sneed, on Oct. 11, Joliet police responded to one of the apartment buildings in the 500 block of Bellarmine for a woman being choked. She relayed that Sneed was upset about believing she was cheating on him, court files show.
Sneed then choked the woman and took her phone, court files indicate. The choking was witnessed by an adult daughter. As for Sneed, he made a run for it and took her phone, court files allege.

Once the Joliet police found him, Officer Shaunza Mitchell ordered him to stop but had to chase him down to stop him. When Sneed was arrested, he had the victim's cell phone, prosecutors said.
In the end, the woman did not need medical attention; however, Sneed "threatened the arresting officer with being popped or shot and then said he would rape the officer's granddaughter," prosecutors alleged.
