Joliet Star Wars Day Almost Here: Everything You Need To Know For 2026 Event Finally Revealed

The Joliet Public Library is committed to be a resource for patrons of the community of Joliet to read, explore, ask and discover.

JOLIET- Saturday, June 6 will be no ordinary day in downtown Joliet as it is transformed into the Joliet Public Library’s 15th Annual Star Wars Day—a FREE family friendly festival of galactic proportions complete with over 100 costumed Star Wars characters, games, exhibits, vendors and more.

The event will kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade of costumed characters from the Star Wars films. The parade route will start at the Will County Office Building, 302 N Chicago Street, head south on Chicago Street, west on Clinton Street, and end on the Library’s front lawn.

The Library is pleased to host Artist Alley, which will feature Star Wars artists and authors, located on the Library’s first floor, Ottawa Street Lobby.

The event will shut down portions of Chicago Street for use of the City Center Square and Clinton Street for the day's activities, including food vendors, music and games for kids,
featuring Chicagoland Speedway and ABATE. Parking is available at both the Ottawa Street and Clinton Street parking garages.

Fun will include the Joliet Area Historical Museum and Renaissance Center, where all of the Star Wars merchandise vendors will be hosted. Stop by to see what they have to offer! The event will end at 3 p.m.

Food vendors include Auntie Anne’s, Cemeno’s Pizza, Gigi’s Sweets on the Go!, Lil’Deb’s Mobile Eats, Salubrious Stop, Smokin’ Z BBQ, Tacos Maui and TCBY.
