Joliet's Marijuana Dispensary Bisa Lina Throws Out Customer, Joliet Police Haul Him Away In Handcuffs

JOLIET, IL — Joliet's revitalized West Jefferson Street corridor, which is now home to the community's only marijuana retail store on West Jefferson Street, was the site of an arrest over the weekend, Joliet police arrest logs show.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, on July 12, at 8:39 p.m., the officers responded to Bisa Lina Dispensary, 2121 W. Jefferson St., for a report of an unwanted man who had returned to the property after previously being banned.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that Jesus Zermeno, 39,
out of Chicago, had been formally advised by officers earlier that day that he was no longer permitted on the property. Employees also reported observing Zermeno urinating behind the business, English revealed.

Officers located Zermeno on the property and took him into custody without incident. During the arrest, Zermeno allegedly directed profanities toward employees. He was charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. Zermeno was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a Notice to Appear in court.

On March 31, Joliet Patch reported that the new Bisa Lina cannabis dispensary focused on hospitality, music, art, community impact and known throughout Chicagoland for having the "Lowest Prices in the State" with the largest menu selection, is opening its second location this week in Joliet.

Bisa Lina Cannabis Dispensary and Outlet, at 2121 W. Jefferson St. would have its soft opening on Wednesday, April 1st. The dispensary is expected to generate dozens of local jobs while contributing to Joliet’s growing cannabis tax base and local economy. In Joliet, Bisa Lina will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. It's near the corner of Hammes Avenue next to the Walgreens store.
