Kindred Gastropub Opens 2nd Location In Crest Hill This November: 'By The Third Visit We Know Your Order'

CREST HILL, IL — Kindred Gastropub is proudly opening a second location in Crest Hill this November at 20631 W. Renwick Road.

Founder Jeff Brown, of Revenge Restaurants, who opened the original Kindred Gastropub in Lisle three years ago, is partnering on the new restaurant with JH Hospitality Group, the Aurora-based group behind Kai Modern Japanese
Kitchen, Touché French Creole, Giardino Trattoria & Pizzeria, and the newly opened Pocus at River event venue.

Brown spent more than 30 years in high-end luxury hotels and restaurants before buying a pub in Lisle and renovating it with help from friends and family. He named the restaurant after them, and the idea of a place where you gather with your fellow “kindred spirits;” and that is what he wants to bring to Crest Hill.

"We've had regulars in Lisle since the week we opened, and many of them have become friends," said Brown. "That's what we want in Crest Hill as well. Come in once, and by the third
visit we know your order."

The Crest Hill food & beverage offerings will be the same menu that Lisle regulars know and love, and it pulls from all over the globe. Starters include ahi tuna ceviche, smoked spam
musubi, and whipped ricotta with local honey on grilled sourdough.

Mains range from sesame-ginger Korean salmon to smoked chicken enchiladas and little mac sliders to a 45-day
dry-aged steak from Allen Brothers. The dessert offerings include a seasonal crème brûlée and our signature house-made bread pudding with caramel anglaise. Additionally, each season, Kindred puts out a featured food and specialty cocktail menu using ingredients that are in harvest or notable for that particular time of year.

Behind the bar, Kindred pours 20 rotating taps, from local craft standouts to classic domestics, along with an expansive wine list, premium spirits, and seasonal cocktails from an in-house mixologist.

Prior to being taken over by Kindred Gastropub, the restaurant location in Crest Hill has seen quite a bit of turnover in recent years. Other entrepreneurs tried to make a go of it as Feathered Fork, Jitterhead, which was a breakfast and brunch establishment, Crusade Burger Bar II and Burger Rebellion.
