Louis Goode 'Was Going To Kill Her By Slitting Her Throat' After Squeezing Her Neck: Prosecutors
Despite the gravity of his eight charges, Will County prosecutors were unable to convince Judge Donald DeWilkins to keep Goode in the jail.

JOLIET, IL — Louis Goode, the violent recurring woman abuser whose mother Carla Policandriotes is a retired Will County judge who now presides as a Cook County Circuit Court Judge at the Richard J. Daley Center in Chicago, finds himself facing eight more criminal charges as a result of this summer's arrest by Crest Hill police officers.
The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged Goode, age 41, with aggravated domestic battery, three counts of aggravated battery, three counts of domestic battery and one crime of unlawful restraint.
Crest Hill police and prosecutors spent about seven weeks building their case before filing charges in late June.

Prosecutors wanted Goode detained under the SAFE-T-Act's dangerousness standard.
According to the filing, Crest Hill police responded on May 3 to one of the apartment building units at 1531 Pioneer Road for a domestic. The caller asked to meet at 1537 Larkin Avenue. The woman advised she "had been arguing all day with her husband, Louis Goode, about wanting to take her van. She advised (Goode) got upset and they began to fight over the keys."

From there, Goode "put his hand around her neck and squeezed for 2 seconds and she left the apartment," prosecutors outlined. "When she came back they argued again and defendant slapped her in the face."
"She Hit The Back Of Her Head"

When Goode's wife tried to leave, Goode "blocked the door by standing in front of it. Victim tried to get through the door and defendant stopped her by putting his arm around her neck —squeezing her neck," prosecutors noted.
Crest Hill police learned the woman "had difficulty breathing but did not lose consciousness."
Even then, Goode still intended to inflict more bodily harm to his female victim, the court documents show.
He "then threw her up against the wall where she hit the back of her head. Defendant then threw her to the ground by her neck and she was able to get up and run outside. Defendant would yell at her and say 'f*** you' and that he was going to kill her by slitting her throat,'" prosecutors revealed.
Crest Hill police found the victim's neck was red around her base and her chest. She "advised her throat was sore to the touch and that she was 6 months pregnant, unknown if his child but report indicates he is aware she is pregnant. Victim advised she is married to Defendant but they had been separated for a month and she was just there to visit," court records explained.

Although Republican Will County Judge Donald DeWilkins frequently imposes the SAFE-T-Act to keep felony defendants incarcerated while awaiting trial, DeWilkins turned down the prosecution's petition seeking to keep Goode incarcerated at the Will County Jail earlier this summer.
According to the judge's order releasing Goode from the Will County Jail, the Crest Hill man will be permitted to leave the state of Illinois for treatment purposes. The judge's order also prohibits Goode from further "unlawful contact" with his current estranged wife and Goode must "start and complete outpatient treatment undergo drug testing at court's request. Defendant is placed on SCRAM," Judge DeWilkins wrote.
