Making a difference in someone's life can be as simple as sharing a conversation, a laugh, or a little time together. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet is seeking volunteers for its Friendly Visiting Program, which connects older adults with caring, trained volunteers for regular in-person visits or phone calls.

Friendly Visiting volunteers offer conversation, companionship and the opportunity to build a connection with an older adult in their community. For someone who is homebound, has limited mobility, or simply has fewer opportunities for social interaction, a regular visit or phone call becomes a very important part of the week.
Volunteers are carefully screened and trained before they are matched with a participant. They should be comfortable connecting with older adults through either in-person visits or phone conversations.

No special professional experience is needed - just reliability, kindness and an interest in getting to know someone new.
Make a new friend. Make a difference. Become a Friendly Visiting volunteer.
