VIDEO: Joliet Police Tell Thief To Stop Using Drugs After She Offers Bizarre Reason For Her Car Burglaries

JOLIET, IL — Imagine being on the Joliet Police Department and you're sent to a car break-in in progress. You arrive on the scene, open the door and you immediately recognize the blonde-haired woman sitting in the front seat of someone else's automobile.

That's exactly what happened, according to Joliet Police body camera video, showing the Aug. 16 arrest of Jessica Rodak, a 33-year-old Joliet woman who police list as homeless. She was put into the Will County Jail following a series of vehicle break-ins and burglaries.

The video of Rodak's arrest is very strange as you're about to see below.

According to the body camera videos from the Joliet police officers, Rodak claimed she was trespassing into other people's cars because she is a medium, she claimed that the people killed their child and the child has been communicating with her to help solve what happened.

"Jessica Rodak!" the first female officer exclaims upon opening the driver's side door of the burglarized vehicle.

"Yes, I told you somebody has been f****** with me," Rodak answered.

"Why are you in peoples' cars, Jessica?" the officer asks. "Get it the f*** together! Get out of the car! Who's car is this?"

Eventually, the team of female officers tell Rodak to put her hands behind her back, that she's under arrest.

"For what?" she replied.

"For criminal trespass to a vehicle, and you're taking peoples' property, so theft," an officer answered. "What's in your bra right here? Do you have any needles?

The officer then tells Rodak, "well, you left your huffing cans in there and shit."

"I don't do drugs," Rodak shouted.

"Oh, Jessica! You don't do drugs?" the officer replied.

"I take medicine. I don't take drugs," she insisted.

"What's in your bra?" an officer asked.

"Money," Rodak said.

"Money? It doesn't feel like money," the officer remarked.

The officer continued to check around Rodak's shirt and bra area before remarking, "Cigarettes? What's in the pack?"

Rodak's comments were inaudible but the officer who heard them responded, "Jessica shut up! You sound stupid."

"I'm going to school for this shit," Rodak shouted.

"You need to go to a better school," the officer replied

"JPD doesn't do federal shit, I do," Rodak claimed.

That's when things got testy.

"Take a seat! Take a seat! Take a seat! Or I'm going to sit you down!" the officer commanded.

"I wanted evidence of all their shit. You shouldn't be charging me. What they're doing is even worse," Rodak yelled.

And that's about when Rodak reminded the Joliet police officers she's a medium, a person who bridges the gap between the dead and those who are living.

"I'm a medium!" she yelled.

"Oh my God!" the officer told her.

"Yeah, that's why I was in the car. Somebody's dead. I'm a medium. A child is dead. They killed a f****** child. The child wanted me to know what they were doing so I can report that child to DCFS and to law enforcement," Rodak revealed.

"Sit down!" the female officer yelled.

Rodak demanded to know why none of the men on the Joliet police force were on the scene of her arrest.

"Why aren't the guys here?" she asked.

"Why do you think we need a guy here for?" the officer asked. "I'm checking you for needles."

At one point, Rodak proclaimed, "I'm going to sue you guys for this.

"Sue me. I don't care. Sue me," the officer replied. "They can sue you for breaking into their cars."

"They killed a child," Rodak responded.

"Jessica, please, stop using drugs," the officer told her.

As Joliet Patch previously reported, at 10:19 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, the officers responded to the Red Roof Inn at 1750 McDonough St. for a burglary to a motor vehicle. Two hotel guests came out of their room after hearing vehicle alarms sounding in the parking lot. According to police, upon checking a Chevrolet Cruze belonging to one of
the guests, they discovered the driver’s door open and observed a woman, later identified as Jessica Rodak, near the vehicle. Rodak was reportedly in possession of
property believed to have been removed from the Chevrolet.
