La Grange Craft Fair Bringing 200-Plus Artists This Weekend

The free two-day downtown event has received national recognition.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange's 52nd Annual Craft Fair will return to downtown Saturday and Sunday, bringing more than 200 juried artists from nine states to one of the Midwest's longest-running handmade art events.

The free fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, mainly along La Grange Road.

The fair has received national recognition, including previous honors from Sunshine Artist Magazine as one of the nation's Top 20 Craft Shows.

Visitors can expect a wide range of handcrafted work, including paintings, photography, woodworking, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, soaps, glass art, home décor and mixed media.

This year's fair will include artists from around the Midwest as well as local exhibitors from La Grange and nearby towns.

Featured exhibitors named in the organizers' announcement include Crow's Garden, Kinderbuilt, Dorn & Nick's Design Studio, My Eye on the World and Glassbound Gardens.

Visitors will also be able to find La Grange-inspired work from UnCommon Coasters and Al's Toy Photography.

Throughout the weekend, Greg Macdonald Studios will demonstrate traditional hand-carving near the Village Hall fountain.

"The La Grange Craft Fair is a highlight of the summer and a wonderful opportunity to showcase everything that makes our downtown special," Village President Mark Kuchler said in a news release. "Our outstanding local retailers, restaurants, and small businesses make La Grange a vibrant shopping and dining destination year-round."

For visitors coming from outside the area, the fair is next to the La Grange Road Metra station.

The event is produced through a partnership among Craft Productions Inc., the La Grange Business Association and the village of La Grange.
