• Lake Villa library sets Nov. 16-23 filing period for trustee candidates (lakecountygazette.com) — Residents in the Lake Villa library district who want to run for trustee can file nomination papers at the Lake Villa District Library in Lindenhurst from Nov. 16–23, 2026. Objection and lottery dates are also set later in November and early December, and questions can be directed to Library Director Mick Jacobsen by phone. 
• Two of Lake County's state senators appear headed for defeat (chicagotribune.com) — State Senate races affecting Lake Villa’s 32nd District show Democrat Karen Battaglia leading incumbent Republican Craig Wilcox, according to unofficial results. Two other Lake County GOP senators also appear headed for defeat, while Democrat Julie Morrison holds a strong lead in the 29th District, potentially shifting regional representation in Springfield for Lake Villa residents.
