• On North Shore, Stevenson tops U.S. News & World public high school rankings, New Trier lands fourth (chicagotribune.com) — Lake Forest High School has been ranked third among Illinois' non-selective public high schools in the latest U.S. News & World Report list, putting it just behind Hinsdale Central and Stevenson. The rankings compare suburban schools to Chicago's elite selective-enrollment campuses, which dominate the statewide top spots. It's a fresh affirmation of LFHS's academic standing for local families. 
• Emma: Bears need to solve their left tackle puzzle soon (audacy.com) — In Lake Forest, the Bears still haven't locked in a starting left tackle to protect quarterback Caleb Williams, with veteran Braxton Jones leading but not securing the job. Coaches are weighing his experience against Ozzy Trapilo's long-term upside as he returns from a major knee injury. With the season opener approaching, the decision at Halas Hall is becoming urgent.
