DOE's Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation Announces $29.5 Million for National Laboratory Mining Projects (smenet.org) — Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont is among 17 national labs tapped for a share of $29.5 million to advance new mining and critical mineral technologies. The federal funding aims to strengthen domestic supply chains and energy independence, potentially bringing more cutting‑edge research activity and collaborations to the Lemont‑based facility over the coming years.
