Taste Of Lemont Returns Sept. 12

The annual event features live music, and 24 local food and beverage vendors.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont High School Educational Foundation will once again host the annual Taste of Lemont event, featuring live music and local food and beverages.

The family-friendly event will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Metra lot in downtown Lemont.

Tickets are on sale now and are $10 if purchased in advance ($15 in person at the door). Admission is free for ages 14 and under, and also free for Lemont High School students with a valid student ID. Tickets may be purchased online by visiting www.tasteoflemont.com.

According to a news release, the Taste of Lemont is the LHSEF’s most important annual fundraiser, and it again will be open to all ages.

As with previous years, LHS said the format will be typical of a “Taste of...” event, with food tickets purchased on site and redeemed with the vendors. Each restaurant will have multiple options on its menu.

The event will have a record-setting line-up of nearly 25 food and beverage vendors, including six newcomers.

Returnees from last year include Barrel & Vine, Bonita Bowls, Carpe Diem Dessert, Celina’s Fresh Market, The Creamery, Digs on McCarthy (feat. Gelsosomo’s Pizza), Folklore Coffee, Happy Bites, Heroes West Lemont, MaMa D’s, Matt’s Barbecue, Moreno’s Mexican Restaurant, NOVATEA, Pollyanna Brewing Company, Rosati’s Pizza, Rustic Knead, Wok’d, and Wooden Paddle. Newcomers include The Club Lemont, Crave Cookies, LHS Band Parents Association, Neima Coffee & Cafe, Southernish, and Thassa Tony’s Heavenly Ice. Menus will be finalized leading up to the event.

According to LHS, the Taste of Lemont will feature live music, including the return of headliner Mike & Joe! Don’t Talk to Strangers, featuring Joe Fascetta, will open the entertainment, and the evening also will include a “Split the Pot” fundraiser, kids’ activities, and a dunk tank featuring Lemont celebrities.

The LHSEF again will offer free remote parking and a shuttle service to and from the event. Attendees may park in the North Lot at Lemont High School and take a shuttle to and from the event.

The Taste of Lemont will be a rain or shine event.

The LHSEF has awarded nearly $670,000 in grants to aid Lemont High School’s students, faculty and staff since 2007, as well as more than $125,000 to help make the CITGO Innovation Academy a reality. Proceeds from the Taste of Lemont benefit the LHSEF. According to a news release, the Foundation funds and supports programs and opportunities that aid students’ growth, both academically and as citizens of the Lemont community.
