Coroner IDs Woman Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting
A 37-year-old Mundelein woman who died following an officer-involved shooting Monday evening has been identified as Mary Alice Love.
MUNDELEIN — A 37-year-old Mundelein woman who died following an officer-involved shooting Monday evening has been identified as Mary Alice Love.
An autopsy conducted Tuesday by the Lake County Coroner’s Office determined Love died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a coroner's office news release.
According to authorities, Mundelein police officers and firefighters were dispatched shortly after 5:57 p.m. Monday to the 1100 block of Ashbrook Drive for a report of a suicidal woman. Officers arrived and learned the woman had gone to the back patio while they spoke inside the residence with the 911 caller.

Police said the woman, Love, was allegedly armed with two large knives and began yelling before entering the home. During the encounter, an officer discharged a firearm, striking Love, authorities said.
Officers immediately provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. Love was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she was pronounced dead.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is conducting an independent investigation into the shooting.
