Electronic Detection Dogs Help Crack Child Pornography Case: Police

A 39-year-old Waukegan man now faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography charges following the Lake County probe.

LAKE COUNTY, IL -- A 39-year-old Waukegan man has been charged with 10 counts of disseminating child sexual assault material following a Lake County investigation that included the use of electronic detection K9 Enzo and State’s Attorney’s K9 Grip, authorities said.

Lake County Sheriff’s detectives and Lake County State’s Attorney investigators launched the probe after learning that child sexual abuse material was being shared from an electronic device in Waukegan, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. The investigation led authorities to an apartment in the 2600 block of West Cornelia Avenue.

A search warrant was executed at the residence Wednesday with assistance from the sheriff's office's Electronic Detection K9 Enzo and State’s Attorney K9 Grip. During the search, detectives recovered electronic devices belonging to Michael A. Bray, 39, of Waukegan, police said.

Investigators allege Bray downloaded and shared child sexual abuse material involving victims as young as toddlers.

Bray was taken into custody and has been charged with 10 counts of disseminating child sexual assault material, Class X felonies, according to a news release.
