• Scam Alert: Scammers impersonating government officials (cityofmadison.com) — Madison residents are being warned about scammers posing as federal agencies and pressuring victims to move money into wire transfers, cashier’s checks, or even gold. The Madison Police Department stresses that real government agencies will never demand secrecy, convert your assets to gold, or require you to move funds to keep them safe, and urges anyone targeted to contact law enforcement. 
• Meijer grocery store construction continues, could impact local food banks & pantries (firstalert4.com) — A new Meijer store under construction in Glen Carbon could eventually channel donations to food banks and pantries that serve Madison County families. With more than 60,000 households in St. Clair and Madison counties facing food insecurity, Urban League leaders say any added support for local pantries, including those used by Madison-area residents, would be especially important.
