• Registration Open Now For Manhattan's Next Community-wide Garage Sale (patch.com) — Manhattan residents can now register to take part in the community-wide garage sale scheduled for Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12, with sales happening at homes across town. Participants can choose one or both days and set their own hours, while shoppers can pick up printed maps at Village Hall, Whitmore ACE Hardware, Berkot's, or online starting Sept. 8. 
• Will County renews Flock camera agreements despite some dissent (chicagotribune.com) — Will County has renewed its agreements allowing Flock license plate cameras in several towns, including Manhattan, despite vocal concerns about privacy and potential misuse. Supporters say the cameras help solve serious crimes and find missing people, while opponents fear mass surveillance and abuse, prompting calls for stronger safeguards and accountability measures.
