McHenry home damage in garage fire (shawlocal.com) — Fire crews quickly knocked down a garage fire at a single-family home near McHenry late Thursday morning, keeping damage mostly to the garage and minor smoke inside. The house remains habitable, all residents got out safely, and multiple neighboring departments assisted McHenry Township Fire Protection District in the response. 
2. Barrington Hills man arrested for allegedly posting video threatening to kill police, judge and others at courthouse (lakemchenryscanner.com) — A Barrington Hills man is jailed in McHenry County after prosecutors say he posted a YouTube video threatening to kill a McHenry County judge, prosecutors, public defenders, and police officers while on pre‑trial release for similar charges. His cases have been reassigned to a DeKalb County judge, and a status hearing is set for June 23.
3. Mosquitoes In McHenry County Test Positive For West Nile Virus (patch.com) — West Nile virus has been detected in a mosquito pool in McHenry County, so local residents should step up mosquito protection even though no human cases have been reported. Health officials urge you to wear long sleeves, use EPA-registered repellents, and eliminate standing water around your McHenry-area home to cut down on Culex mosquitoes that spread the virus.

SBA Offers Relief to Illinois Small Businesses, Private Nonprofits, and Residents Affected by the Oak Lawn Apartment Complex Fire (sba.gov) — McHenry County residents, homeowners, renters, and small businesses are now eligible for low‑interest SBA disaster loans tied to the May 15 Oak Lawn apartment fire. Probe Underway After Death Of 8-Year-Old Boy in McHenry County (patch.com) — McHenry County officials are investigating the death of an 8-year-old boy who was taken from Crystal Lake to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is complete but toxicology results and the cause and manner of death are still pending, and authorities have released few additional details so far.
