Lincoln-Way East Cast, Crew Ready To Shine In 'Big Fish' Musical

FRANKFORT, IL — The cast and crew of Lincoln-Way East's production of "Big Fish" are ready to take the stage in a fantastical tale of true love.

The production is brought to life by the team of students and staff that brought audiences "Les Misérables," Best Production winner "Hadestown: Teen Edition," and "The Phantom of the Opera."

The show brings to the stage the story of Edward Bloom, who lives a life populated by witches, giants, and mermaids. Bloom comes across a true love that stops time in its tracks, and shares the tale with his adult son, Will. No longer amused by his father’s fantastical tales, Will insists on a rational rather than a fantastical account of one’s life, according to StageAgent.com. When Edward’s health declines, and Will learns that he and his wife, Josephine, will have a son of their own, Will decides to find out his father’s “true” life story, once and for all.

"Big Fish" is described as a heartfelt, powerful, and truly magical musical about fathers, sons, and the stories that we use to define our identities. With music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and a funny, heartwarming book by John August, "Big Fish" is a magnificent "big fish" of a tale, itself—"spectacular, fantastical, and overflowing with love."
