• First Human Case of West Nile Virus Reported in Will County (fwrnews.com) — Mosquitoes in Mokena have tested positive for West Nile virus this summer, and Will County has now recorded its first human case, who is recovering. Health officials urge residents to reduce standing water, use insect repellent, and wear protective clothing to lower their risk. Older adults and people with certain medical conditions should be especially cautious outdoors.
