• Man Arrested Carrying 8 Molotov Cocktails Now Faces Federal Charges: US Attorney (patch.com) — Mokena police arrested a man earlier this month after finding him walking in the roadway, then discovering a backpack containing eight Molotov cocktail-style devices. Federal prosecutors have now indicted him on eight counts of possessing unregistered destructive devices, while investigators also recovered a hand-drawn map referencing a suburban mosque and multiple agencies continue to assist in the case.

National Weather Service data show more than 200 tornadoes statewide so far, with nearly 70 in the Chicago area and repeated strikes along similar suburban paths.
