Optum to cut 98 jobs in Illinois, close pharmacy facility - Becker's Payer Issues (beckerspayer.com) — Nearly 100 jobs are being cut in Moline as Optum closes its divvyDOSE mail-order pharmacy facility on 44th Avenue, a move with clear impacts on local workers and families. The company says it will help affected employees with placement and role transitions while working to keep patients’ medication access and care continuity intact.

Durbin, Duckworth, Sorensen Call On DOT, FRA To Extend Federal Funding For Chicago-Quad Cities Passenger Rail Project (senate.gov) — Federal lawmakers are pushing transportation officials to extend key federal funding for the long-planned Chicago-to-Moline Amtrak route, which faces a July 31, 2026 deadline. With state and rail partners now aligned and money committed, an extension could finally move this passenger rail link forward, improving regional connectivity and travel options for Moline residents.

3. Fallen tree damages 2 East Moline homes during Wednesday storms (kwqc.com) — Two East Moline homes were damaged when high winds toppled a tree onto power, cable, and phone lines during Wednesday evening’s storms, ripping away electrical weather-heads and causing sparks. Firefighters cleared smoke, shut off a burst water line, and confirmed both homes remain livable, with no injuries and only a few other minor storm calls reported.

Brian Laufenberg Joins Moline Regional Community Foundation Board (rcreader.com) — Moline Regional Community Foundation has added longtime Quad Cities financial leader Brian Laufenberg to its Board of Directors, strengthening local philanthropic leadership. As CEO of IHMVCU and a veteran of many area nonprofits, he’s expected to help direct charitable funds that support Moline and surrounding counties through scholarships, endowments, and community grants.
