Experience LEGO® Build & Talk at DuPage Children’s Museum

For five days only, August 6–10, DuPage Children's Museum (DCM) welcomes families to experience LEGO® Build & Talk, a special interactive pop-up from the LEGO Group that uses play to spark meaningful conversations about digital play, gaming, and technology.

"Just five more minutes—I’m in the middle of a game!" If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. Digital games are an everyday part of childhood, bringing opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, and connection—along with new questions for families about finding balance.

This summer, DCM is helping families explore those conversations together through LEGO Build & Talk. This pop-up experience invites children, ages 6–9, and their caregivers to build, play, and talk through a series of engaging LEGO activities designed to make conversations about digital play feel natural, collaborative, and fun. Siblings are welcome to join the fun, making it something the whole family can do together.

Through playful building challenges and conversation prompts, families can explore topics like healthy digital habits, teamwork, online experiences, and the role technology plays in their everyday lives—all while doing what children do best: playing.

While many people know the LEGO Group for its iconic bricks, LEGO Build & Talk reflects the company's broader commitment to supporting children's wellbeing through play. As children's play increasingly includes digital experiences, families benefit from opportunities to build the skills and confidence needed to navigate those experiences together.

According to the 2024 LEGO Play Well Report, 61% of parents say their child knows more about technology than they do, and 63% want to better understand it so they can keep up.

Admission to DuPage Children's Museum is $22 for adults and children age 1 and older, and $21 for seniors; it's free for DCM members and children under one year.
