Oktoberfest Returns To Naper Settlement For 2-Day Celebration (patch.com) — Naperville residents can enjoy a two-day Oktoberfest at Naper Settlement on Oct. 2 and 3, featuring an extensive beer selection, German food trucks and live music. The schedule includes multiple bands, a Saturday stein-holding contest, and free admission for Naper Settlement members, with tiered ticket prices for nonmember adults and children.
   

2. Businesses shift in Naperville's Westridge Court for new furniture store (nctv17.org) — Westridge Court in Naperville is being reshaped to welcome a large, yet-unnamed home goods and furniture retailer in a new 97,000-square-foot space. To make room, Going, Going, Gone!, Discovery Clothing, and Ulta are relocating to new Route 59 locations, following a tax incentive approved by Naperville City Council to attract the new tenant.
   

3. Central changes homecoming court nomination process for 26-27 school year (centraltimes.org) — Naperville Central is overhauling its homecoming court nominations this year, shifting from student self- and peer-nominations to staff-selected seniors who reflect new Redhawk core values. Students still vote on the final court, while Rowdies and staff are rolling out new spirit initiatives and fundraisers to make homecoming more inclusive and community-focused.
   

4. Metea Valley wins second straight DVC girls golf championship (nctv17.org) — Naperville golf fans can celebrate strong showings from Naperville North and Naperville Central at the DVC girls golf championship, where Metea Valley clinched its second straight conference title. Local standouts like Mia Kuruvilla and Ahanna Patel helped keep Naperville schools competitive as Waubonsie Valley's Mina Shyam captured the individual medal in a playoff.
   

5. Power of PFLAG Conference comes to NIU Naperville on Oct. 10 (gopride.com) — Naperville will host the regional Power of PFLAG Conference at the NIU Naperville Conference Center on October 10, offering workshops on school advocacy, trans topics, family support, and youth programming. Local parents, students, and allies can attend for $20 including breakfast and lunch, with optional donations helping cover costs.
