Naperville police investigate report of gunshots fired Friday (nctv17.org) — Naperville police are investigating reports of gunshots fired Friday night near the 600 block of South Route 59, but say there's no ongoing threat and no injuries. Officers quickly located two vehicles believed involved and questioned several people. Anyone who saw or heard anything is urged to contact Naperville Crime Tips or call the police department to help the investigation.
   

2. Supporting Actor Job in 'Hell In Downtown: The 1989 Massacre', Male, Age 30-49 (backstage.com) — A student horror film, "Hell In Downtown: The 1989 Massacre," is casting unpaid supporting, lead, and day-player roles for a shoot scheduled September 25–27 in Naperville. The nonunion project seeks primarily Chicago-area talent and promises meals and transportation if needed, with each role working no more than two days. Local actors can apply online and must submit headshots and a video prescreen.
   

3. What were the best deals for residential properties in DuPage / Cook County the week of Aug. 24? (shawlocal.com) — A Naperville condo on McClennan Court topped recent DuPage and Cook County residential deals, selling for $400,000 with three bedrooms and three baths. The roundup compares that sale with nine other $400,000 properties across the region. 4. Cupich and two religious communities take Illinois to court over its assisted suicide law (blogspot.com) — St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville, run by the Carmelite Sisters, is part of a new federal lawsuit challenging Illinois' assisted suicide law on religious freedom grounds. The suit, joined by Cardinal Blase Cupich and other Catholic groups, argues the law could force caregivers to inform or refer patients for lethal medication and limit what they can say to discourage suicide. The case's outcome could shape how end-of-life care is handled at Naperville's Catholic facility.
