Curtain Call Theatre

Put four adults in a room to calmly resolve a conflict between their children. Add strained marriages, bruised egos, questionable parenting, a ringing cell phone and a little alcohol. What begins as a perfectly reasonable conversation can only end one way - CARNAGE.
Curtain Call Theatre will present Yasmina Reza’s wickedly funny, Tony Award-winning comedy ‘God of Carnage’ September 25–27 and October 2–4, 2026. The show is directed by Jo O’Brien.
The premise seems simple enough: After one 11-year-old boy hits another with a stick on the playground, their parents meet to discuss the incident like mature, responsible adults. They are educated. They are polite. They are civilized…for about five minutes.
As pleasantries give way to passive aggression and passive aggression gives way to something considerably less passive, alliances shift, marriages crack and the adults prove that playground behavior isn't necessarily something we grow out of.
Dark, biting and painfully recognizable, ‘God of Carnage’ turns a well-intentioned conversation between parents into an increasingly unhinged examination of marriage, manners, parenting and the thin veneer separating civilized society from absolute chaos. It's the kind of evening where everyone arrives determined to do the right thing…and leaves having said several things they'll regret, or do they?
Curtain Call Theatre's production adds another layer to the battle of personalities with two casts appropriately dubbed ID and EGO, each taking the stage for one weekend.
The ID Cast, performing September 25–27, features Josh Maywin, Ashley Ries, Heidi Drennan and Anthony Uzzardo.
The EGO Cast, performing October 2–4, features Josh Maywin, Patti Goodson, Caitlin Weinert and Gabe Goldman.
Audiences can choose their preferred psychological dysfunction or see both casts and decide for themselves which group descends into chaos more spectacularly.
Written by acclaimed French playwright Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton, ‘God of Carnage’ premiered in London before making its Broadway debut in 2009, where it earned the Tony Award for Best Play. Its razor-sharp dialogue, rapidly shifting loyalties and gleefully uncomfortable humor have made it a favorite of theatres around the world.
At its heart, God of Carnage asks an unsettling question: How civilized are we, really, when someone insults our child, our spouse, our career, our values — or our dessert?
Curtain Call Theatre invites audiences to come find out. Just remember: the children started it. The adults make it worse.

Illinois music legends and trailblazers across rock, blues, soul, jazz, 
hip hop and beyond, including The Plain White T's, Kevin Cronin of REO&nbsp;Speedwagon, Koko Taylor, Curtis Mayfield, 
 and other musical greats with deep Illinois roots.
Annual 
Induction Ceremony , coming to Chicago for the first time on Sept. 27 at 6
 p.m. at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park. The Hall of Fame 
Induction Ceremony is the Illinois Rock &amp; Roll Museum on Route 66’s 
largest annual fundraising event and celebrates the artists, industry 
leaders, and cultural contributors who shaped Illinois’ musical legacy. 
The event brings together inductees, performers, families, and fans for 
an evening of live music, award presentations, storytelling, and 
historic recognition.
The
 evening will feature live performances by Kevin Cronin, Jim Peterik of the Ides of March and Formerly of Survivor, The Plain White T’s, 1960s 
jazz-rock band The Flock, Hot Mix 5 and a special reunion performance by
 The Boyzz, plus several surprise guests to be announced. WGN Radio host
 and Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame member Bob Sirott will host the 
ceremony. Made possible with the support of Old National Bank, Illinois Arts Council, Heritage Corridor, and Insperity.

Ceremony to downtown Chicago for the first time, and the Harris Theater

this year’s celebration an unforgettable night of music, memories and 
Illinois pride. The class of 2026 is our most genre-spanning lineup yet,

music community together, celebrate their legacy and, of course, fill 
the room with great music.”
This
 year’s inductees include bands and solos artists Survivor, American 
Breed, Koko Taylor, The Boyzz and The Flock; songwriters Curtis Mayfield
 and Kevin Cronin; radio personality Terri Hemmert; radio station WDRV 
(The Drive); Brunswick Records; and industry leaders. Irving Azoff, Gary
 Richrath, Golden Voice Studio and Triangle Productions. Other honorees 
include Hot Mix 5 and Plain White T’s.

Our Will County CAC intake/MDT coordinator, forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists provide the following services: * Forensic Interviews: After a child is referred to the Will County CAC by law enforcement or the IL Dept. of Family Services (DCFS), our Intake Coordinator schedules a forensic interview for the child. One of our 4 forensic interviewers listens to the child’s story and asks non-leading, developmentally-appropriate questions as the child talks about the trauma he/she has experienced. Law enforcement, prosecution, DCFS, and mental health professionals observe the interview from a separate room. This reduces trauma for the child and provides a stronger foundation if the case goes to court. * Family Advocacy: Our family advocates are committed to helping each family navigate the complex systems that a family enters when a child makes an outcry of abuse. As each case goes through the investigation, prosecution and healing process, the team is there to help the family understand the process, learn about their rights and successfully access resources that will help their family during crisis. * Trauma-Focused Therapy: Our team of licensed clinical social workers provide short-term, trauma informed therapy to children who have received a forensic interview. Since child abuse affects the whole family, the services are available at no cost to both the child and their non-offending family members. Individual and group therapy is offered in English and Spanish.
