Silver Cross Foundation Appoints Diana Missig to Board of Directors

Co-founder, organizational leader of 'Racing For Mental Health' joins Foundation Board

The Silver Cross Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Diana Missig to its Board of Directors. In this role, Missig will support the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to enhance patient care, advance clinical programs and expand community health initiatives throughout the region.

Missig is the co-founder and organizational leader of Racing For Mental Health, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to destigmatizing mental health through education, advocacy and community engagement. In this capacity, she plays a key role in strategic planning, governance, and advancing initiatives that promote awareness and support for mental health in diverse communities.

She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Studies from the University of Southern California and has built a strong record of philanthropic leadership supporting healthcare and education. Her contributions include support for the Morris Hospital Foundation, Joliet Catholic Academy, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet and the University of St. Francis. She also previously served on the AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Foundation Board, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing community-based healthcare.

In addition to her philanthropic work, Missig is an active advocate in the motorsports community through her involvement with Jordan Missig Racing, supporting her son’s professional racing career. Together with her husband, Jim Missig—former owner of CARCARE Collision Centers—she continues to champion initiatives that blend community engagement, philanthropy and outreach.

“Diana brings a unique combination of nonprofit leadership, philanthropic commitment and community engagement,” said Tracy Simons, CFRE, Executive Director of the Silver Cross Hospital Foundation. “Her passion for improving lives and advancing access to care will make her a tremendous asset to our Board.”

Reflecting on her appointment, Missig shared, “I am honored to join the Silver Cross Foundation Board and support the important work being done to enhance patient care and expand access to vital health services.
