• $8.15M Land Purchase Moves South Glenview Flood-Control Project Forward (patch.com) — Northbrook-area residents in Northfield Township are a step closer to long-awaited flood relief as officials finalize an $8.15 million land purchase for a major stormwater detention basin serving South Glenview. The Central Road Flood Control Project, led and funded by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, will add new storm sewers and a 16-acre basin expected to protect homes, roads, and key east-west travel routes used by Northbrook commuters.
   

• UL Solutions launches vehicle-to-grid certification program (solarbuildermag.com) — Northbrook-based UL Solutions is rolling out a new certification program that could shape how electric vehicles feed power back into the grid, with testing now available at its Northbrook lab. For local residents, this positions the village as a hub in emerging vehicle-to-grid technology that may eventually influence how homes, utilities, and EV owners manage electricity demand and backup power.
