Everything Must Go As Dave's Furniture And Mattress Store Clears Way For JCPenney

BURBANK, IL—Dave’s Furniture and Mattress Discount in Burbank is holding a massive liquidation sale to make room for the scaled-down JC Penney that is replacing the former Ford City store, where it was an anchor tenant for decades.

The family-owned Dave’s at 8148 S. Cicero Ave., Burbank, purports to be the biggest outlet in the Chicago area. Iyad Ibrahim owns Dave’s as well as the land at 8148 S. Cicero Ave. Ibrahim also owns Gallery Furniture directly across the street.

Dave’s claims to have $5 million worth of inventory (at cost) that it has to clear out of its showroom by Sept. 30 and is offering discounts of 50 percent to 80 percent off.

“5M WORTH OF MERCHANDISE CLEARING OUT THIS MF! STORE CLOSING — WE’RE IN THE WAREHOUSE! 50–80% OFF — EVERYTHING GOTTA GO!,” the outlet hawked on Facebook.

Delivery, pickup and financing are available. No credit check and no credit are required, according to the outlet. Dave’s Furniture and Mattress Outlet, 8148 S. Cicero Ave., Burbank, is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
