'Our goal is to keep care local': $116 million hospital expansion coming to Metro East (ksdk.com) — St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon is launching a $116 million expansion to add inpatient beds, grow the emergency department, and build a new surgery center and medical office space. Hospital leaders say the project responds to post-pandemic demand, aims to cut ER wait times, and is designed to keep more Metro East patients receiving care close to home.

O'Fallon Officers Provide Safe Space for Nesting Goose (riverbender.com) — O’Fallon police are once again hosting a familiar feathered visitor at the Public Safety building, giving returning goose “Sgt. Waddles” space to safely nest and hatch her goslings. Officers invited residents to help name her on Facebook and are now playfully urging people who stop by to keep a respectful distance and heed her “hiss-based directives.”
   

3. SIU fashion studies students take center stage with fashion, merchandising concepts (wsiu.org) — An SIU Carbondale fashion student from O’Fallon, Illinois, Noah Eaton, is racing to finish his Western-inspired “Desperado” collection for a free public runway show and student showcase on campus. The event highlights the hard work, late nights, and entrepreneurial ambitions of fashion design and merchandising students from across Illinois as they prepare to launch careers in the industry.

Edwardsville shuts out O'Fallon behind Fox's 10 strikeouts (bnd.com) — O’Fallon High’s softball team was shut out 4-0 by Edwardsville, as Tigers pitcher Marley Fox fanned 10 Panthers and held their strong offense in check. The loss drops O’Fallon to 9-5 overall and 3-3 in the Southwestern Conference, despite a two-hit night from Haylee Williams.
