β’ Christie, John M (nps.gov) β In 1865, young farm laborer John M. Christie enlisted at Olney joining Company H of the 152nd Illinois Infantry. Soon after moving south on railroad-guard duty, he became seriously ill and died that March. He now rests in Stones River National Cemetery, remembered among many Civil War volunteers.

β’ Graham, George (nps.gov subscription) β During the Civil War, farmer George Graham enlisted in the Union Army at Olney joining Company H of the 152nd Illinois Regiment in February 1865. Just weeks later, he fell ill while on duty in Tennessee and died that March. He is buried today at Stones River National Cemetery in plot Hβ3012.
