Live Music, More Vendors: Village's 23rd Annual Taste Of Orland Brings Jam-Packed Weekend To Community

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Village's annual Taste of Orland Park, presented by Northwestern Medicine, makes its return to the Orland Park Village Center July 31-Aug. 2.

“We are excited to celebrate another Taste of Orland Park with more vendors this year,” said Orland Park Mayor Jim Dodge. “For 23 years, this event has been one of our community’s signature summer traditions, bringing us together for food, live entertainment and family fun.”

The Taste of Orland Park showcases Orland Park eateries, community organizations and several bands throughout the weekend. Special events within the fest include live entertainment on two stages, three days of kid’s activities and a Veterans Tribute featuring Jim Cornelison, longtime national anthem singer for the Chicago Blackhawks (Saturday). Battle of the Bands contest (Friday), Live Band Karaoke (Saturday) and Orland Park’s Got Talent (Sunday) make their return to the Community Stage this year as well.

The Taste will be held at the Orland Park Village Center, 14700 South Ravinia Avenue, on Friday, July 31 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 1 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 2 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission, parking and all activities at the fest are free of charge. Food/beverage will be available for purchase and an ATM will be available onsite. Participating restaurants will offer their signature dishes, beverages and desserts at individual food booths located throughout the complex.

Participating restaurants include Barraco’s, Buona Beef, Barone’s, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, C&K Smokehouse, Crave Cookies, Fogo De Chao, Harold’s Chicken, Irish Patriot, Jamba, Jet’s Pizza, Joey’s Red Hots, Mo’s Chinese Kitchen, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Panda Express, Papa Joe’s Italian Restaurant, Pueblito, Taqueria Los Comales, Te’Amo Boba Bar and Desserts, The Original Rainbow Cone and Tradycja Polish Fusion Cuisine.

“This year’s lineup has something for everyone,” Dodge said. “From live entertainment to an incredible variety of food, this year’s Taste of Orland Park will be one to remember.”

The Orland Park Civic Center (14750 S. Ravinia) will be open during the Taste of Orland Park on July 31-Aug. 2 for attendees to cool off and relax during the event. The Orland Park Kiwanis & Lions Club will be hosting Bingo Saturday, Aug. 1 and Sunday, Aug. 2 from 3-8 p.m.

After live entertainment wraps up Friday, attendees are invited to stay for a drone show from 11-11:15 p.m.

  • 5 to 6:15 p.m.: Jimmy Buffett tribute band Barometer Soup
  • 6:25 to 6:55 p.m.: Carl Sandburg Marching Eagles
  • 7:10 to 8:30 p.m.: ’80s tribute band Rok Brigade
  • 9 to 11 p.m.: headliner cover band Wedding Banned

SATURDAY

  • 3 to 4 p.m.: Tom Petty tribute Petty Kings
  • 4 to 4:15 p.m.: Doonaree Pipe Band
  • 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Country band Hillbilly Rockstarz
  • 6 to 6:30 p.m.: The annual Veterans’ Tribute national anthem performance by Jim Cornelison
  • 7 to 8:30 p.m.: Cher tribute Annika Starander Weaver
  • 9 to 11 p.m.: pop rock headliners 7th Heaven

SUNDAY

  • 3 to 4:15 p.m.: Beach Boys tribute Sounds of Summer
  • 4:20 to 4:35 p.m.: Elevate Dance Company
  • 4:45 to 5:15 p.m.: Battle of the Bands Winner (announced July 31)
  • 5:45 to 7 p.m.: ’90s rock band Rock the 90s
  • 7:30 to 9 p.m.: headliner Billy Joel tribute band Billy Nation

After the conclusion of the music, the Taste of Orland Park will conclude with a fireworks show from 9-9:15 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to visit two new special information tents. Located on the Village Green, the “Snapshots of Orland Park” tent will showcase display boards highlighting Orland Park’s rich history and the milestones that have shaped the community over the years. Additionally, the Community Tent will provide information about how local tax dollars are invested, along with updates on current and upcoming Village projects to enhance the quality of life in Orland Park.

Free parking is available at several sites around the Village Center, including Orland Township (14807 S. Ravinia Ave.), Orland Park Library (14921 S. Ravinia Ave.), John Humphrey Complex (14825 West Ave.), the Orland Park Recreation Lots (14600 S. Ravinia Ave.) and the 9650 W. 143rd St. Parking Garage. Ravinia Avenue will be closed to through traffic from the 147th roundabout to 149th Street.

Please note: Guests may bring one sealed water bottle per person. No other outside food or drink will be allowed into the event. Bags will be inspected at entrance locations. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the event and are reminded that no tables are allowed to be brought in.
