Oswego High Schools Named To AP Honor Roll

​Last year, more than 40 percent of seniors at Oswego and Oswego East high schools took at least one AP exam, District 308 announced.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego High School and Oswego East High School were recognized for their Advanced Placement programs, Oswego Community Unit School District 308 announced.

The College Board placed both schools on its 2025 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll and gave them the "Bronze" distinction.

The honor roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are "delivering results for students while broadening participation," District 308 officials said. The recognition, which can be earned annually, reflects a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credits and maximizing college readiness, according to a news release.

At Oswego High School, 41 percent of seniors took at least one AP Exam during high school, with 31 percent scoring at least a 3 — out of a possible 5 — on at least one AP Exam. Six percent of seniors took five or more AP Exams.

Comparatively, 47 percent of Oswego East High School seniors took at least one AP exam during high school, and 36 percent scored a 3 or higher on at least one test. Twelve percent of seniors took five or more exams.

"We are always proud of our students’ accomplishments within the College Board AP Program," Assistant Superintendent of High Schools Kristen Campbell said in a statement. "These courses and exams require a great deal of hard work from our students, staff and leaders, and we admire their shared dedication to student success."

The College Board's program offers AP courses in 40 subjects.
