• Oswego hires interim public works director (shawlocal.com) — Oswego village leaders have appointed veteran administrator Phil Modaff as interim public works director, filling the role as current director Curt Cassidy departs Sept. 18. Cassidy highlighted major wins for Oswego, including federal funding for the Wolfs Crossing–Douglas Road roundabout and work on the Lake Michigan water project, before returning to Texas. Residents can expect continuity as Modaff steps in later this month.

For Oswego families, that figure stands well above the statewide average and suggests strong classroom stability. The report comes as Illinois continues to wrestle with teacher vacancies and enrollment declines.
