Police say the woman's husband called 911 after seeing the footage and fearing she was in danger.

OSWEGO, IL — Before a woman was found slain in her home on Valentine Way, Oswego police say her husband called 911, telling dispatchers that he believed she was in danger after seeing, via home surveillance footage, a man chase her into their garage. Police say the caller believed the suspect was his wife's former husband.
Police say the woman's ex-husband was taken into custody after she was found unresponsive in the 400 block of Valentine Way, then pronounced dead at the scene. Neither his name nor hers has been released.
The incident, which occurred around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, was isolated and posed no threat to the community, police said Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers provided police with a vehicle description and license plate number. At about 1:37 p.m., an officer saw the car and driver, both matching the provided descriptions, and conducted a traffic stop near Rance Road and Pioneer Court. The driver, identified as the victim's ex-husband, was detained without incident.
The Kendall County Major Crimes Task Force and Forensics Team are helping police with the investigation. The Kendall County Coroner's Office will be conducting an autopsy Thursday to determine the woman's cause and manner of death.
The preliminary investigation indicates the man followed her into the garage and attacked her, police said, adding they are not releasing any information about the victim at this time.
Oswego police said Wednesday afternoon that they have obtained multiple search warrants and have conducted a search of the area with help from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Oswego Fire Protection District, and police departments in Yorkville, Montgomery and Plano.
Police call on residents to help with the investigation
Oswego police asked residents of Prescott Mill, Hudson Pointe and Echelon Oswego to review surveillance footage that may have captured the suspect or vehicle prior to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Photos shared by police showed the man wearing a dark-colored coat, gray hat and face covering standing in snow as well as a gray SUV.
Residents who put their garbage cans at their curb before 1:45 p.m. Tuesday were also asked to check in and around their trash cans and in their yards "for any items that do not belong to them or were not placed there intentionally."
"If you locate anything suspicious, do not touch it and immediately call 911," police added.
If anyone has any information about the incident, police are encouraging them to call the department at 630-551-7300.
