Naked Man Accused Of Sexually, Physically Assaulting 3 Women In Downtown DeKalb
Police say they were alerted to the crime spree Thursday afternoon near the library and farmers market.

DEKALB, IL — A 33-year-old man faces a dozen charges, including multiple felonies, after police say he sexually or physically assaulted three women in downtown DeKalb on Thursday afternoon.
Police said they received several 911 calls at 1:15 p.m. reporting a man who was physically and sexually assaulting a woman at the DeKalb Public Library, 329 Oak St. As several officers were dispatched to the library, more 911 calls came in reporting that a second woman was being assaulted on the street near the DeKalb Farmer's Market, police said.
As DeKalb officers "saturated" the downtown area, officials said they found a man, later identified as Maurice Kemp II, fitting the description provided by several witnesses. By then, police said the man "had removed all of his clothing and was completely naked."

DeKalb police said officers found three female victims in the downtown area who had been physically and/or sexually assaulted.
Two victims were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said, while the third refused medical attention.

Police said Kemp, whom they referred to as "transient," was taken to an area hospital for a narcotic medical evaluation before being released to the DeKalb Police Department pending criminal charges.
The DeKalb County State's Attorney's Office approved a dozen charges against Kemp relating to the incident at 1:15 p.m. Thursday: one count of attempted aggravated criminal sexual assault, two counts of attempted criminal sexual assault, one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, two counts of criminal sexual abuse, three counts of aggravated battery, and three counts of unlawful restraint.
