Yorkville Banquet Hall Owner Took Child Porn Images From Changing Room: Police

OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego man, 57, faces child pornography charges after investigators allege he copied images from surveillance footage at his banquet hall in Yorkville showing girls in various stages of undress, police said.

Montgomery police contacted the Yorkville Police Department on June 15 after recovering images from Eleno Silva's phone during an unrelated investigation, according to a news release issued Tuesday.

Patch has reached out to Montgomery police seeking information on their investigation.

A Yorkville police investigation led officers to believe the photos on Silva's phone were copied from surveillance video recorded inside Martini Banquet Hall on Saravanos Drive. As the owner of the business, Silva had direct access to the surveillance system, Deputy Chief Garrett Carlyle told Patch.

The girls were changing in a designated area during multiple events hosted by the business in 2023, according to the release.

Yorkville police obtained a warrant for Silva's arrest, and he surrendered himself Monday to the Kendall County jail. Silva faces six counts of child pornography and three counts of child sexual abuse material.

As police continue investigating, officials are asking anyone who attended or hosted an event at Martini Banquet Hall during 2023 to contact investigators at ypdtipline@yorkville.il.us or 630-553-8590.

The banquet hall, 171 Saravanos Drive, has a 4.6-star rating on Google and advertises its services for "Weddings, Quinceañeras and Special Events."
