Palos Hills Cops Shoot, Kill Suspect In Domestic Dispute
The man was threatening to shoot his girlfriend and her children, when a "police involved shooting" occured, Palos Hills police said.
PALOS HILLS, IL — Palos Hills police shot and killed a man early Sunday morning who police claim was threatening to harm his girlfriend and her children.
At 4:18 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 7 Cour Versaille. A 911 caller stated that a man had a shotgun and was going to harm his girlfriend and her children.
Officers said they were met by an armed man, later identified as Gerhardt Facko, 37, of Palos Hills, when “an officer involved shooting occurred,” Palos Hills police said in a news release.

Facko was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.
The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Unit is investigating. Palos Hills police said “there is no additional information that can be released at this time.”
