• Ruse Burglars Target Elderly Homeowner In Palos Hills: Reports (patch.com) — Palos Hills police are investigating a ruse burglary in which a man posing as an electrical worker entered an elderly woman's home and distracted her while accomplices stole jewelry and cash. Residents are reminded to be cautious about unverified utility workers and to report suspicious activity promptly to help protect vulnerable neighbors.
   

• Local Event: KINGS CLUB for children (patch.com) — Families in Palos Hills can enroll kids in a free Friday-night KINGS Club program at Palos Hills Christian Assembly, running September 18 through November 20 for grades K–8. Each week includes a short Bible lesson, snack, and games or crafts, with optional parent drop-off and concurrent youth group for high schoolers.
   

• Pearl C. 'Nicki' Cardinale, 80 (southwestregionalpublishing.com) — Palos Hills residents are invited to pay their respects to Pearl C. "Nicki" Cardinale, 80, with visitation Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home on Southwest Highway. A funeral service follows Thursday morning, with interment at St. Mary Cemetery.
