D202 Uses 2nd E-Learning Day For Frigid Temperatures
Wind chills of 25 below zero are expected before "some improvement" on Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 used its second e-learning day of the year Monday due to frigid temperatures.
The four-day weekend was a result of highs in the teens and wind chills between 25-35 degrees below zero, Patch reported. A cold weather advisory is in effect through noon Monday. Wind chills of 25 below zero are expected before "some improvement" on Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.
Students and parents will learn the status of after-school activities and sports Monday morning, officials said. No YMCA Kid Zone will take place.

Monday's day of attendance will not need to be made up later during the school year.

"Unless otherwise directed, please plan to be in person on Tuesday," Director of Community Relations Linda Taylor wrote in an alert.
