PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Village Board will determine Monday night if Terrabis, one of two cannabis dispensaries in town, can activate its building's existing drive-thru.

Terrabis, at 16020 S. Route 59, became the first recreational cannabis dispensary in Plainfield when it opened in 2024. Now, two years later, the shop is looking to bulk up its operations.

The drive-thru comes on the heels of Terrabis beginning last month to serve medical patients following new state rules for dispensaries, Patch reported.

Customers will only be able to use the drive-thru by placing an order online, according to village documents. Major structural changes won't be necessary in order for Terrabis to operate the drive-thru.

The Village Board voted 4-3 in March 2024 to approve a special use permit for Terrabis, about three months after trustees voted 4-2 to legalize the sale of recreational marijuana in Plainfield.

The green-light vote in December 2023 stipulated only two dispensaries could open within the village. The second, Aces, opened at the start of 2026.
