Quincy city council approves demolition of three homes through Fix or Flatten; more soon to be on the way (khqa.com) — Quincy City Council has approved demolishing three long-vacant, unsafe homes on North Fifth Street, College Avenue, and Madison Street through the city’s Fix or Flatten program. Officials say removing these derelict properties will improve safety and relieve nearby neighbors, with more demolitions potentially up for a vote as soon as next Monday.

No advanced degree needed in expanded Quincy police chief search (muddyrivernews.com) — Quincy’s Fire and Police Commission has dropped advanced degree requirements in its search for the next police chief, opening the job to more QPD officers who’ve completed probation.
