• Rochelle Marks Completion of $12 Million Wastewater Plant Upgrade (1023thecoyote.net) — Rochelle has finished a nearly $12 million upgrade to its wastewater treatment plant, boosting capacity and preparing for stricter state environmental rules. City officials and Rochelle Municipal Utilities say a final $2 million phase for chemical phosphorus removal is planned, which should complete needed improvements for the next decade. 
• Animal activists push Ogle County board to shut down ‘abusive' rodeo (wifr.com) — Animal rights activists are pressuring Ogle County leaders over a controversial rodeo operation at Rancho La Esperanza, just outside Rochelle. A county committee has voted to revoke the rodeo’s special use permit, with a final decision expected at the June 16 county board meeting in Oregon.

State police reopen push for answers in 2018 creek death (kwqc.com) — State police are renewing their call for information in the 2018 death of Tyler Smith, a 23-year-old National Guardsman from Rochelle found in a Galesburg creek. Investigators say questions remain despite two autopsies, and they’re asking anyone with knowledge of his final hours to contact Illinois State Police.
