1. Second Saturdays Returns to Downtown Rock Island Starting June 13 (rcreader.com) — Downtown Rock Island is rolling out its Second Saturdays series starting June 13, with free, family-friendly activities tied to the QC Farmers Market. From yoga in Arts Alley and live music on Green Lawn to shop specials, a new bagel shop soft opening, and library and preservation pop-ups, residents can explore a packed schedule running monthly through October.

2. YWCA Quad Cities hosting Summer Block Jam (ourquadcities.com) — Rock Island families are invited to the free YWCA Quad Cities Summer Block Jam on Sunday, June 14, from 1–4 p.m. on 17th Street. Kids and adults can enjoy food, games, a bounce house, petting zoo, giveaways, and a dunk tank starring Rock Island Mayor Ashley Harris, YWCA staff, and local educators, plus car seat checks from the county education office.

3. Official rules for Mississippi Valley Fair Concert Ticket Giveaway (wqad.com) — Rock Island residents are eligible to enter WQAD’s Mississippi Valley Fair concert ticket giveaway, which runs online through June 21. Teens and adults from Rock Island County can submit one free entry for a chance to win two one-day concert tickets, with winners drawn weekly and prizes claimed at WQAD’s Moline office.

4. Brian Laufenberg Joins Moline Regional Community Foundation Board (rcreader.com) — Rock Island residents are part of the region served by the Moline Regional Community Foundation, which has just added longtime Quad Cities financial leader Brian Laufenberg to its board. His experience leading IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union and serving on local nonprofits may help direct more philanthropic dollars and scholarships into Rock Island County communities.
