• Bark-Tober Fest Returns To Romeoville (patch.com) — Dog lovers in Romeoville can bring their pets to Bark-tober Fest on Oct. 4 at Wiggly Field Dog Park, where costumed pups, food vendors and photo ops with Bluey and Bingo will highlight the afternoon. The village-sponsored event runs from 3 to 5 p.m. and features separate costume contests for small and large dogs, plus treats and refreshments for attendees.
   

• Ninth Annual Romeoville High School Spartan Classic Features 17 Bands (patch.com) — Romeoville residents are invited to Spartan Stadium on Oct. 3 for the ninth annual Spartan Classic, where 17 marching bands will compete and raise funds for Romeoville High School's Marching Spartans. The hometown band will present its 2026 show, "The Amazon," while visitors enjoy a full afternoon of performances, awards and family-friendly entertainment.
   

• Will County Senior Services CEO insists key services will remain, despite bankruptcy and loss of buildings (shawlocal.com) — Romeoville seniors who used the Ovation Center should prepare for its Sept. 30 closure, but key services from Senior Services of Will County will continue despite bankruptcy and building losses. The CEO says in-home support, protective services, and resource coordination will remain, while activity-focused programs are being shifted to other community providers around the county.
