200+ Cited, 3 Arrested During Speeding Crackdown In Skokie
During the month of July, police were on the lookout for speeding drivers and other traffic violations.
SKOKIE, IL — The Skokie Police Department released the results of its July 2026 speeding enforcement campaign, which led to the arrests of three people and nearly 100 citations for speeding.
During the July enforcement period:
- One person was arrested for speeding;
- Two people were arrested for traffic violations;
- Police issued 98 speeding citations;
- Police issued 27 seat belt citations;
- Police issued 16 insurance violation citations;
- Police issued 14 distracted driving citations;
- Police issued 58 other citations.
Skokie police partnered with other state and local law enforcement agencies, as well as highway safety partners, for the campaign. The effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
