13 Injured In South Side Drive-By Shooting, Including Teen In Critical Condition

CHICAGO, IL — Thirteen people were injured, including two in critical condition, in a drive-by shooting Friday night in Chicago's Princeton Park neighborhood, police said.

The shooting occurred about 11:08 p.m. in the 200 block of West 95th Street on the city's South Side, police said in a news release.

According to police, a red SUV pulled alongside a large crowd before two people inside the vehicle opened fire. The suspects fled following the shooting.

Police initially found a 32-year-old woman with two gunshot wounds to her back and a 44-year-old man with four graze wounds to his back. Both were hospitalized in good condition.

Additional victims later arrived at area hospitals, according to police. They included a 17-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh and was listed in critical condition at Trinity Hospital, and a 26-year-old man who suffered gunshot wounds to the body and was listed in critical condition at the University of Chicago Hospital.

The remaining victims were reported in fair or good condition. They included women ages 22, 32, 36 and 38, and men ages 27, 30, 32 and 47.

Police also reported that another 26-year-old man suffered injuries but declined medical treatment.

No arrests have been announced, and the shooting remains under investigation.
