Neighboring La Salle and Ottawa also received larger grants for historic restoration and tourism marketing, all part of a $4.85 million statewide push to boost Illinois travel and local economies. 
• Uncovering Illinois' culinary secrets (the-source.net) — A popular Illinois food reviewer known as Grazing Guse grew up in Streator, where his grandparents ran the Dog 'n Suds drive-in that sparked his love of classic diners. Now based in Springfield, he spends weekends crisscrossing the state to film unsponsored, honest restaurant reviews that are driving big bumps in business for some small eateries.
