ā¢ Altamont Downs Cumberland 5-2 In Baseball - Effingham's News and Sports Leader, 979XFM and KJ Country 102.3 (thexradio.com) ā Cumberlandās baseball team fell 5-2 to Altamont in a home game played in Toledo, where late-inning runs made the difference. A two-run homer briefly put the Pirates ahead, but Altamont capitalized on walks, errors, and timely hitting to pull away. Local fans listening on KJ Country 102.3 heard Cumberland strand key baserunners in several innings.

ā¢ Man gets probation after plea to meth possession in Madison County (thetelegraph.com) ā A man from Toledo has been sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty in Madison County to a reduced meth possession charge. Two co-defendants from Vandalia faced similar Class X felony accusations, with one also receiving probation and another still awaiting resolution. Authorities say the trio were found with a significant quantity of meth in 2024. Ā Ā Ā
