• Softball Coach Wanted On Sex Abuse Charges Involving Juvenile Athlete (patch.com) — Vernon Hills police are searching for a softball hitting coach accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl during training sessions at a local sports performance center. Authorities say the coach, who also worked with athletes in Wauconda and across the Chicago area, may have left Illinois and could have had contact with other underage athletes. Parents of anyone trained by him are urged to talk with their children and contact Vernon Hills police with any concerns or tips.
